Associate Professor Peter Foley (MBBS, BMedSc, FACD)

Peter Foley Associate Professor Foley’s interests in dermatology include psoriasis, photosensitivity (sunlight sensitivity) disorders, non surgical management of nonmelanoma skin cancers and photodynamic therapy (PDT). He was one of the first doctors in Australia to introduce PDT, being involved with clinical trials with this treatment option from 2001. Currently he is on the Board of Directors of the International Society for Photodynamic Therapy in Dermatology and on the editorial board of Clinical Photodynamics in Dermatology. He is Australia’s only councillor on the International Psoriasis Council. In addition, Associate Professor Foley is on the Board of the Photomedicine Society.

Associate Professor Peter Foley graduated MBBS and BMedSc. from Monash University in 1987. His BMedSc. thesis was the first National Skin Cancer Survey. After obtaining an MD looking at the effects Vitamin D on the skin, Associate Professor Foley completed his dermatology training obtaining fellowship in 1997. Since that time he has consulted at Malvern. In addition, he attends the phototherapy, photodynamic therapy and biological therapy clinics at the Skin and Cancer Foundation, and the dermatology investigation, biological therapy, photobiology and cutaneous lymphoma clinics at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne where he is also Head of Dermatology Research.

Associate Professor Foley’s research activities include being a Principal Investigator for clinical trials, having been involved in over 70 trials for indications including psoriasis, eczema,seborrhoeic dermatitis, acne, rosacea, cutaneous lupus , hidradenitis suppurativa, tinea, actinic keratoses, nonmelanoma skin cancer and urticaria. He has an appointment as an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine (Dermatology) at The University of Melbourne and is involved in medical student teaching. Currently he is Director of Research, and immediate Past-President of the Skin & Cancer Foundation (2008-2012), a tertiary referral centre with subspecialty dermatology clinics.

Associate Professor Foley has published widely and now has over 70 manuscripts in print.

Dr Rebecca Nguyen MBBS (Hons) FACD

Dr Rebecca Nguyen MBBSDr Rebecca Nguyen is a consultant dermatologist in private practice and holds appointments at Monash Health and the Skin and Cancer Foundation. Dr Nguyen graduated from Monash University in 2008 before undertaking her dermatology training in Melbourne and was awarded in 2013 the President’s Medal for Pharmacology, in 2014 the prestigious Australasian College of Dermatologists travelling scholarship to Oxford, United Kingdom and in 2016, the Founder’s Medal for Procedural Dermatology.

Dr Nguyen has expertise in both adult and paediatric dermatology. Her areas of interest include eczema, psoriasis, acne, rosacea, hyperhidrosis, skin cancer management and women’s dermatology.

Elysse Kenner RN (MNP, BHSc DT, Dip BT)

Elysse Kenner Elysse is a Division 1 Registered Nurse, Cosmetic Injector, Clinical Trainer, Dermal Clinician & Beauty Therapist, with a passion for skin health, promoting self-confidence & also preventative health care. She has over 9 years of extensive industry experience working with some of Victoria's most prestigious Plastic Surgeons & Dermatologists. She graduated with a Masters of Nursing Practice from Monash University, as well as, graduating from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences - Dermal Therapies & Diploma of Beauty Therapy.

Throughout her career, she has not only performed but educated & trained clinicians, fellow Nurses and Doctors in advanced skin treatments, laser and light therapies and cosmetic injectables. Her professional standards are actively maintained by attending conferences, seminars and workshops, ensuring she is up to date with cutting edge developments in her field.

Celeste Bennett (Practice Manager)

Celeste Bennett is our practice manager and has been working in medical administration for 15 years. Her role at Foley Dermatology & Associates is to provide the necessary support for doctors and staff, ensuring the smooth running of the practice, so that all our patients receive the best possible care.

Angie Parker (Reception Manager)

Angie, along with our team of receptionists, is your first point of call. Angie has worked in Dermatology for the past 11 years. Her role is to manage and maintain the efficient running of our dermatology and aesthetic clinics, ensuring that all patients have a caring, enjoyable and happy experience.
